Last week GreenDrop had the pleasure of attending our partner charity’s The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul of Philadelphia Annual Members Meeting. Over 70 SVdP Members from various conferences throughout the Archdiocese attended the meeting at the Church on the Mall in Plymouth Meeting, PA. The meeting gives members the opportunity to gather and get updates from the Board with regards to financials, training opportunities and upcoming events.
Members also had the chance to hear from different organizations that offer programs to assist those in need. Representatives from PECO, Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network and Delaware County Constituent Services were there as well as our GreenDrop team. Like GreenDrop these organizations help the society fulfill its mission of helping neighbors in need.
We shared information about our partnership with the Society and answered a few questions including information specific to St. Vincent de Paul donations received, how to schedule parish clothing drive and upcoming initiatives GreenDrop is working on to expand the program. Members had the opportunity to share their thoughts on the new relationship In a little under a year the society and GreenDrop have held nearly 230 clothing drives, which we are all very proud of.
