The holidays are all about tradition. From getting together with friends and family to baking holiday cookies, the list goes on.

One of our favorite holiday traditions is giving back. The holidays bring out the giving spirit in all of us. But the great thing about this tradition is it can be done throughout the year!

So whether you’re giving back during the holiday or giving back more is your resolution for the New Year we have a great list you can follow at anytime!

Volunteering- Volunteer your time at a soup kitchen or food bank to give out holiday meals to families in need. You can also volunteer at a local senior center, see if they are doing any holiday events that you can help with!

Food Drive- If you can’t find the time to volunteer you can coordinate a food drive with neighbors, coworkers or your child’s school. Ask everyone to donate canned and non-perishable foods and donate them to the local food bank or shelter.

Last but not least, go through the closets in your home and donate gently used clothing and household goods. You can bring your unwanted items to a GreenDrop location nearest you or give us a call to schedule a home pickup at your convenience. As always you have the option to donate to any of our 3 partner charities, the National Federation of the Blind, the Military Order of the Purple Heart or the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Philadelphia. Our drivers or attendants will provide you with a tax-receipt from the charity of your choosing. Hurry and get those donations in before the end of the year for tax-season!Happy volunteers sitting near full donation boxes.
