The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair is the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed horse show competition in the U.S., and this year, it’s going green! We are a proud sponsor of this year’s show and country fair, taking place from May 21 through May 31.
In the 1890s, newly established railroad lines began bringing business men and their families to Philadelphia’s western suburbs. Although they came by railroad, they were using a variety of horse breeds to pull their coaches, carts, and buggies around the Main Line. In 1896, a group of local men decided to plan a horse show, and shortly thereafter, the Devon Horse Show was born! Today, the Devon Horse Show draws top competitors from all over the world to Devon, Pennsylvania for 10 days of competition, showmanship, and tradition.
In 1919, during the peak of the women’s rights movement, the women of the Main Line organized a country fair in conjunction with the horse show, with proceeds benefitting the local Bryn Mawr hospital. To date, the fair has raised almost 14 million dollars for the hospital.
This year, we’re excited to support the Devon Horse Show while also giving back to the local community. We will be on-site with the GreenDrop truck collecting donations, and you’ll see the GreenDrop name in the Dixon Oval and Gold Ring during various events throughout the show! When you donate, we’ll supply you with a coupon for a free lemon stick – a traditional Devon Horse Show treat.
