With 23 GreenDrop sites throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, there’s a pretty good chance we’re already a part of your community. And if not, you might be seeing us pop up in your neighborhood shortly, thanks to Michael Gray, our new Director of Real Estate! Michael will be helping us identify potential locations for new GreenDrop Charitable Donation centers so we can serve more donors like you.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Michael attended Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School. After high school, he left home for Loyola University in Maryland, where he played rugby. Since then, sports have continued to be a big part of Michael’s life; he enjoys staying active with basketball, softball, and golf. This lifelong love of sports has instilled a team-focused mentality that he now brings to GreenDrop.
Before joining GreenDrop, our executive team shared the responsibility of real estate site selection, approval, and new location openings. With Michael on board, we are happy to have a helping hand in leading this department and bringing more GreenDrop sites to you. With his wealth of experience, we will be able to identify eyesores in communities and quickly transform them into safe, convenient, and clean donation centers.
“We view ourselves as members of the community. When looking for sites, we want to immerse ourselves by reaching out to youth little leagues and neighborhood associations to offer support, and educate people on what we do.”
Just last year, Michael had never heard of GreenDrop. But, after noticing the West Chester Pike location in West Goshen, PA, he instantly wanted to learn more. When we met him, we knew he was a good fit!
Michael will be scouting potential locations based on a number of factors: unrestricted visibility and access, limited high-speed traffic areas, safety, well-lit environments, and weather-free accommodation for donor drop-offs.
