After the holidays life seems to slow down a bit. But in the spring, when the weather gets warmer life picks right back up again. From taking the kids to practices to barbecues and other family events, our calendars fill up quickly.
We can easily get swept up in the chaos of life and before we know it our home starts to reflect that chaos.
Here are some tips to help stay on track this season.
Sometimes even the smallest of tasks can seem daunting in the rush of daily life but we promise doing these tasks will make the rest of your day much easier. For example, simply making your bed in the morning your bedroom will look and feel twice as clean. This will also help motivate you to stay neat throughout the day.
Whether you’re cooking or entertaining the kitchen is always at the center of life. Each year take inventory of what you own: utensils, cookware and dishware. Get rid of any duplicates or damaged items. Reorganize so the most needed accessories are within reach. Reclaim your refrigerator by cleaning items that have gone bad and wiping down the shelves, drawers and doors.
The best time to clean your closets is at the beginning of each season. Do a quick survey of what you own and bag all of your gently worn but unwanted clothing for donation. Remember if you haven’t worn something in over a year, you probably won’t wear it again.
Being prepared can help you stay focused throughout the busy season. If you’re constantly on the go you might want to create a car kit. This is where you can store things like; paper towels, first aid kits, snacks and water. Having these items organized in your trunk will come in handy incase of any emergencies.
