The Federation works hard all year round to remove legal, economic and social discriminations; while educating the public about issues concerning the blind.

The organization gathers each year in Washington D.C for its Washington Seminar. This year the event will be held from Monday, Jan. 25- Thursday, Jan. 28. Starting off on Tuesday morning with the Great Gathering- In, the expected group of over 500 people will come together to learn about and advocate for legislative initiatives that will improve the lives of blind Americans.

For the next 3 days the group will make legislative appointments regarding issues requiring congressional attention over the coming year. Issues may include the following areas: civil rights issues, educational programs and services and other timely topics.
